Stormwater/MS4

The Town of Winfield is a newly designated MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) community in Indiana. Recognizing storm water never travels alone, the Town of Winfield has implemented strategies to protect waterways through the establishment of the Stormwater Quality Managment Plan. It has separate sewer systems for sanitary water and stormwater. Sanitary water is sent to a treatment plant. Stormwater is discharged directly into local bodies of water. By mitigating pollution during development and through public education, the Town of Winfield strives to lessen the impact of stormwater pollution on local ecosystems and those who rely on it.
