Utility Information

The Town of Winfield is responsible only for Trash/Sewer/Stormwater services (water that is leaving your property). We are not affiliated with any local water, electric, or gas utility providers - see company resources at the bottom of this page for contact information.

 

Monthly Trash/Sewer/Stormwater Utility Billing Breakdown

Residents of the Town of Winfield receive a monthly utility bill that includes charges for trash, sewer, and stormwater services. The chart below outlines the current monthly rates:

Stormwater Fee $6.00 per residential unit (flat fee)
Sewer (Metered) $23.90 minimum (up to 2,000 gallons) + $11.95 per additional 1,000 gallons
Sewer (Doubletree Lake Estates) $33.90 minimum (up to 2,000 gallons) + $11.95 per additional 1,000 gallons
Flat Rate Sewer $59.75 per month

Seasonal Sewer Billing

Summer Billing (May 1 – October 31)

To account for outdoor water use, summer SEWER charges are based on your average winter water usage over the previous 6 months. If no winter average is available, your sewer charge will be capped at $59.75 (equivalent to 5,000 gallons).

Winter Billing (November 1 – April 30)

During winter months, SEWER charges are based on actual water usage. Common household activities like showering, washing dishes, laundry, and watering plants all contribute to wastewater. Conserving water during this time can help lower your bill.


What to Do About High Winter Water Use

If you notice unusually high water use:

  1. Contact Indiana American Water at 1-800-492-8373 for a leak or meter check.
  2. If a leak is confirmed, a correction may be made to your usage report.
  3. Once Indiana American Water updates your readings, the Town of Winfield can adjust your Sewer/Stormwater utility charges accordingly.

How to Pay Your Trash/Sewer/Stormwater Utility Bill

We offer multiple convenient ways to pay your utility bill:

In Office 10645 Randolph St, Suite C, M–F, 8:00am–4:30pm (card fee: $3.45). Last payments are taken at 4:00 pm.
Drop Box Located outside the town office by Suite C
Autopay (No Fee) Sign up at our office using a voided check and application
Autopay (Online) Enroll through InvoiceCloud (processing fee applies)

Payment Due Date: Utility payments are due by the 24th of each month. A 10% late fee is applied to your bill amount after the due date.

To avoid late fees, we recommend signing up for email notifications and autopay.
